Ring Sizing Guide
Finding the correct size for your ring order is extremely important.
Unless we have measured your finger ourselves in one of our stores we regrettably cannot accept any responsibility for a mis-ordered ring. In most cases a ring ordered to size will not be covered by our normal returns policy due to it being an item made specially to order for you. This is in line with current distance selling regulations.
In the case of an incorrect size, we will of course endeavour to have your ring re-sized for you but this will incur an additional charge and may not be possible in all cases due to the construction of the item. If you are in any doubt about the sizing of your ring please contact us for advice BEFORE placing your order.
There are a number of alternative ways to ensure you have correctly sized your ring/finger and we have listed them below in order or preference and accuracy.
- (Very accurate) Call into one of our stores and have your finger measured by one of our expert staff. This will ensure that you have received the best possible service proper to ordering you ring and we can also be assured that the size is absolutely correct before processing you order. In most cases we will also be able to handle your ring order in person at the same time.
- (Accurate) Call in to any reputable jeweller and ask then to size your finger. Make sure they size to the 'leading edge' (they should know what this means) as this is how we size all our rings. It's also a good idea to tell them what thickness of band you are thinking of buying. A wider band will need slightly more allowance in size than a narrower one. Again any reputable jeweller should be able to advise you on this.
With both the above alternatives you can also have a ring measured if you know that it is the correct size required. This is useful if you are buying a present for someone and don't want them to know in advance and can 'borrow' a suitable sized ring of theirs to have measured.
- (Reasonably accurate) Order a mini ring sizer from us for £2.99. The cost of this will be refunded against any subsequent order made within 30 days of ordering. Please note that they only size up to Z+3 so if you have particularly large fingers (especially men) then you may not be able to use these. Please sure you follow the instructions carefully on the ring sizer and feel free to contact us if you need any help. Click here to purchase your ring sizer now.
- (Variable accuracy) Download and print out our ring sizing guide. Follow the instructions carefully, especially those concerning the print size setting on your printer. Click here to download the guide.
General points
Argenteus uses the UK sizing system or letters. If you know your size in any other country you can download our conversion chart to find your UK ring size.
Its always better to measure you finger later in the day as finger size can vary depending on how warm your hands are and any manual work you've been doing. For this reason rings can often feel looser in the winter than in the summer.
If you are dieting or losing weight for some other reason you may want to order a slightly snug fit in order to allow for any further reduction in your finger size. The reverse applies if you feel you are likely to gain weight in the near future.
Most of rings are available in a set range of sizes only, please see the item description before ordering.
In most cases rings from our British designer collections can be ordered in any size but depending on the materials used the price may vary.
In all cases, If you require any one to one advice about how best to ensure you are ordering the correct size ring, please do not hesitate to contact us or one of our stores at any time.
