Regina uses her Armenian origins as the inspiration for many of her unique pieces, utilising various motifs and ornamentations that are found in architecture and ancient manuscripts.
She combines this with a love of the intricate natural cellular patterns observed using a microscope.
Her jewellery is made from sterling silver and transparent plique-a-jour enamels, reflecting the colourful contrast seen in stained glass windows, thus bringing all these varied elements together into a collection that is truly contemporary and original.
The technique of plique-a-jour uses transparent enamels without metal backing allowing light to intensify the luscious colours used. Each piece is hand filled with a combination of two to three enamel colours and fired, a colour alchemy which means no two pieces are exactly the same. The jewels are decorated with engravings of her Armenian roots, especially ancient manuscripts and interiors.
